NOT WANDERING IN THE WILDERNESS

GOD IS GRACIOUS indeed! As "newborns" we were guided to the ministry of Grace Fellowship, Intl. How blessed we have been not to have wandered in the wilderness too many years! Yet, the "exchanged life" was not all that God had stored up for them that love Him and are called according to His purpose.

A couple of years ago we were introduced to Union Life. How wonderful it is to become more and more of what God intends for us to be.

Of course, we lament with others at the temination of the print magazine (and we do not own a computer). But we thank God for His gracious blessing on us, and trust Him for His blessing on you.

LET GO -- AND LET GOD

WHY ARE YOUR READERS saddened by the ending of Union Life? Don't they realize that a new beginning awaits them?

Yes, the articles captured my soul and taught me to be silent before the Lord God, but now I seek a new joy and plan that God alone has provided for myself and your other readers. We just have to open to it. If we cling to the past, then how will the future be brought about in our Christian walk?

Remember the saying: "Let go, and let God"? Well, let's do it.

My thanks for the past, and a wonderful publication -- and with eager anticipation of the future.

A PATH LINED WITH PARADOXES

THIS QUIET, EXCITING JOURNEY into the heart of God is consuming, yet allows the time for all the daily and routine things -- and the space also. Paradoxes line the path. I think of you all so very often, yet I find it difficult to sit down and write to tell you so. Words seem so much more important, while the right words are harder to come by. Times for "centering" are increasingly more important yet actual time "centering" is less. The reality of "the Life within" is quietly present, but my own personality seems more visible.

It's funny, but as I sit down to finally begin this letter to you. I find myself saying things I hadn't thought of beforehand. Just a little while ago my husband said that he didn't seem to be able to understand me today. Maybe you will say the same thing.

I do want to tell you that one of the pastors of my church seems to be slowly coming to understand our union with Christ. We've talked a few times and I've shared the magazine. Recently, he spent a week at a Jesuit silent retreat. Before he left, he asked me to pray for his time there. Since he came back, he has tried to incorporate a time of meditation before his various classes. He is trying hard to understand, and is also praying his heart will stay open. The "busyness" of his pastoral ministry takes so much time. He says himself -- he does battle all the time to let God lead. Would you please join me in prayer for him that the Lord would hold him fast while drawing him deeper?

"The Lord desires intimacy and oneness with us and will not settle for anything less..." This was a word the Lord gave birth to in my heart long ago and then verbalized by a dear Catholic priest friend.

I give thanks for God's goodness in touching my life so beautifully with yours.

In Jesus' lovely name.
